As long as I can remember I have strived to protect and shelter any animal that comes my way. As a young child, my “animal craziness”, as my grandparents used to put it, was manifested in endless petting, shared play and complicity. As a university student, I felt the need to get closer to an institution that cares for and protects stray, orphaned, sick dogs and cats.
In addition to the fast pace of medical school, every minute I spent in the shelter was a real emotional boost for me, and I was able at that time to physically support it with all my strength. I was eager to go to work, to help with the daily tasks, to rescue, to organise and to enjoy the love I received back from the animals many times over for every stroke, kind word and caring act. After graduating from university, my duties became more and more numerous and responsible. I started to work, we started a family and had children, so sadly I had less and less time and energy for physical work. Therefore, from this time, I have chosen to ensure material support, which I have provided with all my heart and will continue to do throughout my life.
I try to raise my children in this spirit, and I trust that I can pass on to them the sense of responsibility and affection I feel for abandoned dogs and cats.
The aim of this initiative is also to get as many of us as possible to support innocent abandoned animals. If you feel and think the same way, feel free to join me! Let us set an example together, let us help together, let this be our common mission!
